Another attraction worth mentioning is the Shelby Riverwalk Trail which offers riverfront views along with nature viewing opportunities, including cattails, beaver dams, etc. Visitors should make sure to check out this trail before they leave town because it goes on for 5 miles (8 kilometers).

The Historical Society Museum - should also be visited by tourists because it is located at the corner of 24 Mile Road and Van Dyke Avenue.

The museum was built in 1931 and had six rooms that display historical exhibits. It is open to the public Tuesday through Saturday 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM, except Mondays.

Visitors should check out this attraction if they are interested in learning about what life was like during the early 1800s; visitors will be able to explore both father's & mother's sides of an immigrant family from Europe.

One tourist attraction not mentioned yet but well worth mentioning is the Rotten Robbie Gas Pump. The gas pump was built in 1962 and still operates today (the gas prices were calculated using a chalkboard rather than digitally).

Taylor Nature Center - It is located at 13 Mile and Chicago Road and is open to the public for free. The center includes a variety of attractions, including trails, gardens, and an amphitheater. Visitors will enjoy learning about nature here as they explore the different exhibits and packages that are available to them.

Shelby Township Historic District - is a must-see as well because it is the first historic district in Michigan and only one of three found in Macomb County.

It was established on January 26th, 1984, and has 2075 properties within its borders - many of which were built between 1840 and 1910. Visitors will be able to explore a large variety of residential, religious, industrial, and commercial buildings that are from this time period.
